SYS: Update #9

Greetings!

Work on SYS Version 1.08 has been completed and all Patrons can download this content patch from here:

Before we get into what this patch adds to the game, here is an update on things: This is the last update the game will get before the next public release, so that means that also all MC Patrons will have access to this update here. I am currently working on the public release of the newest SYS Version and I'm preparing said release for next week, so fingers crossed!

I'd also like to report that work on the new expansion is going smoothly so far, though I've got nothing to show yet, unless you'd want to see simple blocks doing simple stuff since currently there's only programmer art in the game, haha! I can say that most of the main new mechanics are done so far. You can expect more info on this expansion after the new public version of SYS has been released!

With that being said, let's get into what this update adds:

As the name says, all players are forced to a truce! This not only means that they can't attack eachothers characters, it also extends to attacking other player's estates and their guards. So unless you need to fight against shady figures in dark alleys or get ambushed by cheap asses, there will be no hostilities happening as long as this card is in effect.

The next card:

This is pretty much the opposite to the "Rainy Storm" Event Card. Everyone will be able to run big distances over a short period of time, which could come in extremely handy if you need to go to your home quickly. If you really want to blaze through the map, be sure to put on some running shoes as their effects will stack with this Event Card!

Next up we've got 2 new maps, one is a 4 Player Map:

This is the Harbor District and is very similar to the 3 Player Map called "Docks". Apart from the rather unique Layout this map has another special thing about it: At the time of this update, this is the only map with 4 Dark Alley Tiles! This means that you better be prepared for a big amount of fights! If you're playing as a non-fighter character, things could get pretty tough. Building a Hospital so that you can recover from a KO quicker is advised!

And next is a new 5 Player Map called "Pinsels". ^_^

Not as hostile as the other Map, this one still has 3 Dark Alleys, so watch out. Its property values are among the lowest of the entire game, so buying lots of land shouldn't break the bank. Another interesting thing about this map is the fact that if you chose to play it with 5 players, Player 4 and 5 live very close together with their homes which can either be a good or bad thing!

Next, I've got some reports that some people experienced some mouse lag with the custom mouse cursors in the game. I am not sure if this issue can be fixed with the engine I am using (I'll keep trying), so for now I've added a new option in the Main Menu which allows you to disable custom mouse cursors if you desire.

That's all for this update! For a complete overview of everything this patch does please refer to the changelog down below.

  • Added "Truce" to the Event Cards pool.
  • Added "Runners" to the Event Cards pool.
  • Added "Pinsels" as a new 5 Player Map.
  • Added "Harbor District" as a new 4 Player Map.
  • Added the option to disable custom cursors to prevent mouse lag.
  • Fixed a bug where when the amount of money needed to level up would be decreased as far as possible, the maximum starting amount of money wouldn't get properly decreased in the game setup screen.

I hope you'll have fun with the game!
Please stay tuned for further updates in the future! ('ᴗ')

Regards,
Snooley
