A downloadable game

Sabi Yabi Showdown! is a digital party boardgame for local 0 - 8 Players! Mainly inspired by 100% Orange Juice and Itadaki Street 2, in SYS you must seize control of a city by any means necessary. There are multiple ways to do this and you can either try a more peaceful approach or use destructive force and sabotage your opponents operations.

Making money is a big part of the game and you will need it to construct new buildings, buy items which can heal you or buff your stats, invest in stocks or even place a bounty on another player! There are multiple ways on how to earn money and your character will play a big role in how you'll approach your goal.

You can earn cash in a lot of different ways: Winning fights, having shops which generate income, winning in the casino or (if you're really desperate), you can prostitute yourself! Do everything that needs to be done to claim this city as your own!

Here are the main features of the game:

  • Earn money and build up your own chain of many, many shops which include: Noodle Restaurants, Bakeries, Brothels, Gun Shops and fancy Hotels.
  • Other players can enter your shops and buy goods and items from you. If you don't like 'em, make them pay double. If you hate them, ban them from the premises.
  • Outfit your character with a variety of items which can heal you, buff your abilities or permanently increase your stats and make you stronger.
  • All characters have different abilities as to how they can fight and make money. One can prostitute themselves, another one farts their enemies to death.
  • Includes a simplified stock market system which allows you to invest into companies or even other players.
  • Hire guards which defend your interests. One possible guard is a Shiba Inu Dog doing backflips to evade attacks.
  • Place a bounty on other players which will lure contract killers into the town. Even other players can claim the bounty.
  • If played by the AI, all characters have their own, unique personalities and behave differently from eachother.
  • Buy other player's properties via auctions or go the more brutal way and blow said properties up.
  • Special event cards keep the experience fresh and unpredictable.
  • Includes a Soundtrack Editor so that you can create your own playlists which you can listen to in-game.
  • Mod friendly: You'll only need to edit a few extremely easy to read .inis to include your own items, shops, graphics, sounds and even your own characters!

Thank you for your time and have fun with the game!

what art style/engine do you use to make the characters

hey there! This game is really fun, I like the style of it. but I want to report a glitch, when a character returns from vacation, the character itself disappears from the board and the game locks itself. it gets stuck focusing on the spot where the character should be and does not respond to any commands. Is this a known issue or is it just me? is there a way to fix it?

Hello there! Thank you so much for trying out my game! I'm glad that you are enjoying it. :)

Hmm, I remember in the past there being an Issue with the Vacation Tile but it should be fixed and I've never encountered that issue since. Does this always happen everytime a character returns or just some times? I'll be sure to give it a few more tests and see if anything happens.

Thanks again for checking out the game!

I have the same problem.

I've implemented a failsafe for the next version which should hopefully resolve this issue.
